Magazine accepts unsolicited submissions all year
round from new to advanced career artists, writers
and poets in all disciplines and practices from
anywhere on planet earth. We favour the cutting
edge over the blunt of the handle, the avante garde
over backward walking, the delinquent imagination
over the hammered economic mind. We publish whenever
something brilliant arrives and are always dipping
into the murky depths of a MASSIVE bulging submissions
folder.

Email
your Photographs, digital art, scans of your notebooks,
representations/photographs of your paintings
(whatever can be sent via email) please only send
recognisable formats such as .gif. jpg. If you
are going to submit more than 10 pieces please
use winzip
and send the .zip file.
TEXT/FLASH/MP3
SUBMISSIONS
Email
your material attached as a .doc or .rtf. or .txt
.mp3 .swf. In the body of your email include your
name, type of submission and a brief biography,
including (if any) past places of publication.

If you simply must send us submissions pasted
in the body of an email, thats OK but attach it
if you can.
We
are currently unable to make cash payments to
Authors/Artists for material published. This is
NOT my idea, I wish I could. Payment is the international
audience who will be viewing your work. Retort
receives hundreds of emails a week, please understand
that the editor long ago gave up trying to reply
to everyone. If you have not received a YAY within
3 months then you must assume it is a NAY. Don't
stress, there is a good possibility your submission
has not even been seen yet and you may get an
email in a year out of the weird green of the
international network. If this system really annoys
you and you simply MUST find out what happened
to your submission, wait 2 months then send an
email with 'about my submission' in the subject
line.
